Children's Ministry - Sunday Morning
Live Oak’s Sunday Morning Children’s Ministry consists of five classes divided by age. Children who are 4 years of age or older remain in the gym, with their family, where they participate in worship and share prayer requests and praises.
We use age-appropriate curriculum in each of our classrooms, and are blessed with a team of loving and talented teacher/volunteers who minister to the children each week. The curriculum choices we make utilize a variety of ministry tools that incorporate individual teaching methods while, at the same time, bless the children’s many different learning styles, because, as Ecclesiastes 11:6 says, “Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let not your hands be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well.”
The heart of our Sunday morning ministry to children
is best expressed in John 13:35.
“By this all will know that you are My disciples,
if you have love for one another.”
We fulfill this by:
A. Continually seeking the highest good of the children
of Live Oaks.
B. Seeking to know each child individually.
C. Encouraging the children to demonstrate their faith as they serve others.
D. Partner with parents as they train up their child/ren in the way they
should go.
E. Expect the children to honor their parents as the Lord commands.
F. Desire for each of them to personally participate in God’s kingdom.
G. Send our 6th graders on to youth with an understanding of God’s
purpose for themselves and the church.
We do these things with an awareness that our children are learning about the church from the adults and youth around them, even when we are not formally “teaching” them.
We consider it a blessing and a privilege to minister to the children of Live Oaks Community Church each Sunday, as we encourage each child’s relationship with Jesus above mere knowledge of God.
